I started my journey as a UX designer in 2019 enrolling myself in a master's program in UX/UI Design, Didn't knew where to start then I am sure you must be facing that same lack of certainty. I am writing this blog for people who are inquisitive like me to know things beforehand and want to plan their journey.

Before diving into The Process I would like to mention that you start with UX Deliverables this way you will have some idea of what you will be doing as a UX & UI Designer, After you have delved deep it’s time to reach the surface for some fresh air and start understanding The Process.

UX/UI are two different terms but are clubbed together for convenience and association, UX is a user experience design whereas UI is a user interface design, Both mention the word user which clearly states everything that we have to do is keeping in mind the User.

The world we live in has a lot of complicated problems that can be for various reasons, But as UX Designer we can address those issues with an open mind Empathizing with our users to deliver a product or a service that eases out those issues being faced by the user.

For that, We have a design thinking process that will answer some of our questions about how to start, where to start, what methods are required, what tools are required, what constraints are there, etc.

Design Thinking

For an architect, it’s important to understand physics similarly for a UX designer it’s important to understand UX Psychology.

Psychology of UX design

For every structure, the foundation should be compacted similarly for UX design a solid understanding of UX Laws is important.

UX Laws

For UI (Visual Design) we need to understand the Grids, Color Theory, Typography, Moodboards, Style Guides, Iconography, etc. to make your design aesthetically pleasing.

Tools are very important for UI Designers but it’s equally more important to have the right approach to move forward.

Tools

I started with the Adobe Xd tool it has plugins, a library, a prototyping option, sharing UI design with your team, etc.

Figma is another free tool available online it’s easy to use, Teams can collaborate, make improvements and share the work online.

Sketch is another popular tool used by the industry, But it’s not free and you require a Mac for that.

In sequence for your product or service, You also require to conduct a Usability Test to validate your research.

These were some of the major components I pondered and thought of sharing with my colleagues I hope you have a smooth journey ahead in your career.
